1st Corps Badge Identified to Private James Flynn, Company D, 12th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment, c. late 19th century, round silver corps badge marked "1ST CORPS/JAMES FLYNN/12TH MS. INF." on the obverse, reverse has a pin for attaching to clothing, dia. 1 in. Provenance: The collection of Ron Tunison. Note: Flynn enlisted on June 26, 1861, and was mustered out of service on July 8, 1864. He is listed as being wounded on August 30, 1862, at 2nd Bull Run, and again on December 13, 1862, at Fredericksburg. Estimate $200-400 Pin is in very good condition with only patination on the silver. This may be his veterans pin. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
