Officer's Flask Identified to Lieutenant John W. Bean, Company I, 5th New Hampshire Volunteer Infantry Regiment, c. 1862, glass flask with a pewter cap and a pewter cup, cup marked "Lt. J.W. Bean/5th Reg. N.H.V./July 31, 1862," overall ht. 6 3/8 in. Provenance: The collection of Ron Tunison. Note: Bean enlisted on October 15, 1861, at Concord, New Hampshire, and was mustered out of service on October 29, 1864. He was wounded on December 13, 1862, at Fredericksburg, and again on June 3, 1864, at Cold Harbor. Estimate $200-400 In very good condition with one small ding on the edge of the cap.
