Whitney Revolver, Second Model 4th Type, Identified to 2nd Lieutenant Daniel Webster Davis, 5th Massachusetts Volunteer Militia, c. 1862, .36 caliber, serial number 16832A, walnut grips with "DWD" carved on the left side, octagonal barrel marked on the top "E. WHITNEY/N. HAVEN," barrel lg. 7 1/2, overall lg. 12 3/4 in. Provenance: The collection of Ron Tunison. Note: Daniel Davis enlisted at Wenham, Massachusetts, on September 16, 1862, and mustered out of service on July 2, 1863. Estimate $1,000-1,500 Grips have some wear, no finish is left on the gun and it is a spotted gray color, and it functions properly.
