Burnside 4th Model Carbine, c. 1863-64, .54 caliber, serial number 30462, walnut stock and forend, two cartouche marks on the left side, marked on the top of the receiver "BURNSIDE PATENT/MARCH 25TH, 1856," barrel lg. 21, overall lg. 39 3/8 in. Provenance: The collection of Ron Tunison. Estimate $400-600 Stock has dings, nicks, and "WEST" carved on the right butt, the action functions properly, with some peppering and spotting on the metal.
