Hale, 5th New Hampshire Volunteer Infantry, c. 1860s-90s, handwritten book with descriptions of camp life and battle fought by the 5th New Hampshire, listings and descriptions of men Hale knew who were killed during the war, as well as hand-drawn maps of battles including Gettysburg, commissions, and other wartime documents, and a cap box. Note: Charles A. Hale enlisted in the 5th New Hampshire as a private and was discharged as a captain at the end of the war. He was wounded during the Battle of Fredericksburg as well as at Chancellorsville. Estimate $500-700 Pages have a few cracks and tears, some folds and foxing but in overall very good condition.
