U. S. Model 1816 Type III Musket, c. 1823, .69 bore, walnut stock, steel fittings, lock marked "B. EVANS/VALLEY FORGE" with an eagle, tail of the lock dated "1823," barrel tang dated "1823," with a "US" on the left side of the breech, all of the barrel bands have a small stamped "4," barrel lg. 42, overall lg. 58 in. Estimate $2,000-2,500 Stock has a few light dings and nicks, barrel and fittings are a plumb color, and the lock functions properly.
