Bird's Head Pommel Saber and Scabbard Attributed to A. W. Spies, c. early 19th century, brass hilt with twisted "P" knuckle bow and remnants of silver wash, carved ivory grip, counterguard has two langets with a star, marked "Warranted" on the ricasso, partially blued blade with gilt foliate designs and panoply of arms, brass scabbard with some remnants of silver wash, engraved foliate designs around the bands and drag, and an eagle clutching olive branches, blade lg. 29, overall lg. 33 1/2 in.
