Two Iwo Jima-captured Arisaka Bolt-action Rifles and a U. S. Marine Corps Kabar Fighting Knife, c. 1930s-40s, a Type 38 rifle serial number 57456, 6.5x50mm Arisaka caliber, the stock damaged by two bullet strikes, with remnants of original sling inscribed with Japanese soldier's name, dust cover with matching serial number; and a Type 99 rifle serial number 25956, 7.7x58mm Arisaka, with hardwood stock, leather sling with soldier's name and lacking dust cover, both rifles with intact chrysanthemums; the Kabar with leather grip, the blade marked "U.S.M.C." and "CAMILLUS, N.Y.," with leather sheath. Provenance: Picked up from the battlefield on Iwo Jima by Private Lou DiPaolo, 24th Marines, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Division. Note: FFL, C&R.
