Colt Single-action Army Revolver and Shoulder Stock, c. 1883, serial number 97932, .45 caliber, walnut grips, lanyard loop on the butt, marked on the left side of the frame "PAT. SEPT. 19. 1871./JULY 2-72./JAN. 19.-75.," and on the top of the barrel "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. Co. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.," with a nickel-plated shoulder stock, barrel lg. 7 1/2, overall lg. 26 3/8 in. Provenance: The collection of David F. Post. Estimate $7,000-9,000 Gun retains some of the blueing on the butt and barrel, and some light remnants of case hardening on the frame with the rest a light gray. Bore has some pitting but solid rifling. Overall condition is very good and the gun functions properly. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
