Folk Art Carving of Abraham Lincoln, possibly North Carolina, late 19th century, the standing figure wears a stovepipe hat and black vested suit, with his hands in his pockets, on a carved tripod branch base carved with serpents and a frog in relief, original surface, old shrinkage crack, ht. 42 3/4 in. Note: Found in Asheville, North Carolina, in 1992. It is thought that the figure was carved by an African American out of mimosa or willow wood.
