Oct. 5, 1799 AE 37," beneath a sprawling willow tree on a colorful lawn, in an eglomise mat inscribed "WROUGHT BY REBECCA WARREN. 1085.," in a molded gilt-gesso frame, ht. 23, wd. 20 in. Note: Col. Simeon Spaulding (1713-1785) was the father of Phillip Spaulding (1762-1799), both lived in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. Estimate $1,500-2,500 There is some foxing and toning in the sky, the willow branches are somewhat faded, but the colors in the remainder appear fairly strong.
