Gilt-frame Patent Timepiece or "Banjo" Clock, c. 1815, mahogany veneered case with roman numeral painted iron dial, brass side arms, inset rope-molded frames enclosing the reverse-painted tablets, eight-day time-only brass movement, ht. 32 1/2 in. Estimate $300-500 mahogany veneered head with unusual thick or wide structure, paint loss to tablets, dial looks good but seems to have a thin varnish applied.
