Jones & Co, New York, late 19th century, two-part case with a flat stepped-molded cornice with dental molding above the full-length Corinthian capital columns flanking the beveled glass waist door and dial glass, lower section with stepped-molded base, unsigned 19-in. dia. silvered dial with arabic numeral outer track, four-pillar brass movement with dead-beat jeweled escapement and escape wheel pivots, maintaining power, top and side brass dust covers, three-jar faceted mercury pendulum with fully engraved rod and housing, and an elaborate six-crossing pulley suspending a brass-cased weight, ht. 96 in. Provenance: Found in a Brooklyn, New York, funeral home over forty-five years ago, and has been in the same family ever since. Estimate $6,000-8,000 case bottom is a 20th century construction.
