Joseph R. Harbeson Surveyor's Compass, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, mid-19th century, 5 1/2-in. dia. silvered dial with fleur-de-lis representing north, engraved in script "Jos. R. Harbeson/Maker/Philadelphia," blued needle, dual spirit levels and outkeeper, housed in its original walnut box with two paper labels. Provenance: Richard Miller Collection. Estimate $200-300 sighting vanes appear to be replacements. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
