Paolo Sala (Italian, 1859-1924) Gondole Veneziane Monogram signature and inscribed "PSala/Milano" l. r., titled l.l. Watercolor on paper, sight size 20 7/8 x 14 in. (53.0 x 35.5 cm), framed. Condition: Area of transfer of gold from the frame liner to l.r. corner, not examined out of frame. Estimate $800-1,200 Although the frame was not opened during cataloging, the condition appears good. The frame backing board consists of a couple of pieces of wood pieced together and held in place with atyp0ical hardware including a metal hinge and some window hardware and two cupboard clips. Consequently we did not want to attempt to open the frame. Framed dimensions are 32 x 25 3/8 in. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
