Bo Bartlett (American, b. 1955) Bo on Wheaton Inscribed and signed "IGN [within a circle]/S.P./Bo/EY01/Bo Bartlett Wheaton Island Maine" on the reverse, titled and dated "...2001" on a label from P·P·O·W/Pilkington · Olsoff Fine Arts, New York, affixed to the reverse. Oil on panel, 18 x 24 in. (45.7 x 61.0 cm), framed. Condition: Minor surface grime. N.B. A native of Georgia, Bo Bartlett began spending summers on remote Matinicus Island, off the coast of Maine, in 1995. In 1999, he purchased tiny Wheaton Island, just next to Matinicus. Most known for his large-scale, light-filled narrative paintings, Bartlett also paints intimate renderings of family and friends, and self-portraits such as this example. Estimate $8,000-10,000 There are very minor abrasions at center left and center right that appear to be tiny nicks that may have occurred when the paint was wet.
