Whiting Sterling Silver Center Bowl, New York, late 19th century, the oval bowl with two upright cast classical busts on knopped stem terminating in an oval foot with two enameled shields mounted to base, one with an engraved armorial and the other a monogram, ht. 13 1/2, lg. 22 1/4 in., approx. 71.6 troy oz. Estimate $1,500-2,500 Shallow dent to one edge (below female portrait bust), small shallow dent to one edge on the other side, couple pinprick dents to stem. Light surface abrasions, slight loss to gilding to interior. Otherwise in good overall condition, finish is very crisp. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
