Gandharan Stucco Buddha Head, Kushan, possibly 4th/5th century, the finely carved head with heavy lidded eyes and full lips, with impressed circles on the hair and topknot, traces of pigment, ht. 5 in. Provenance: Purchased in Karachi in the 1960s by an Edward Durell Stone architect, then by descent to the present owner. Estimate $700-900 damage to nose and ears, Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
