Gandharan Gray Schist Stele, Kushan, possibly 2nd/3rd century, depicting a Yakshi standing on a plinth and holding a branch, the elaborate carved drapery revealing one leg crossed over the other, the feet with heavy anklets, ht. 16 1/2 in. Provenance: Purchased in Karachi in the 1960s by an Edward Durell Stone architect, then by descent to the present owner.
