Framed American School Oil on Canvas Portrait of a Child, possibly Prior-Hamblin school, 19th century, ht. 23, wd. 19 1/4 in. Estimate $800-1,200 piece exhibits a repair just above the left shoulder. The piece is accompanied by an invoice from Copake in 2017 stating a hammer price of this piece of $1,300, and a receipt for conservation of the piece stating that the piece had been cleaned, varnished, relined, restretched, and inpainted. Black-light shows inpainting to the arms and face of the girl. The piece also exhibits craquelure and tenting throughout. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
