Carved Cherry Slant-lid Desk, Massachusetts or New Hampshire, mid to late 18th century, the lid opens to a shaped interior with central star-carved prospect door flanked by document drawers, short drawers, and compartments, above a case of four graduated drawers, on four short cabriole legs ending in pad feet, original brasses, refinished, (restoration), ht. 42 1/2, case wd. 36, case dp. 17 1/2 in. Provenance: Israel Sack. Estimate $1,000-1,500 legs replaced, some returns appear original. interior drawer carved with shells rebuilt.
