William Matthew Prior (Massachusetts/Maine, 1806-1873) Stormy Harbor Scene Inscribed and dated "W. M. Prior 36 Trenton St. East Boston, 1871" on the stretcher. Oil on canvas, 24 3/4 x 33 in., in a gilt molded frame. Condition: Small puncture, scratch and small spots of lifting paint on left half, inpainting to craquelure in dark pigments.
