Pieced Silk Quilt, reportedly made by Blanche Bradford (b. 1862), Winslow, Wisconsin, c. 1880-1900, designed as a multi-part border surrounding thirty eight-pointed stars, in various shades of blue and brown, 68 1/4 x 59, mounted on a stretcher. Provenance: Stephen Score, purchased in 2003 by a private Massachusetts collector. Note: According to family lore, Blanche Bradford worked on this quilt for sixteen years, which reportedly incorporates 5,555 sewn pieces.
