Four Colored Ink Drawings by Southern Cheyenne Ledger Book Artist Howling Wolf, Ho-na-nist-to (1849-1927), the highly detailed card-size drawings depict Howling Wolf, his father, Minimic or Eagle Head, a "Cheyenne Squaw," and an Arapaho warrior, 4 1/4 x 2 3/4 in. Note: Howling Wolf was a Southern Cheyenne warrior who was a member of Black Kettle's band and was present with his father at the Sand Creek Massacre in Colorado November 29, 1864, both were imprisoned at Fort Marion, St. Augustine, Florida, in 1875.
