French, 20th century. A pair of French Sevres style lidded porcelain urns decorated with all over yellow glaze with a single cartouche on front decorated with hand painted genre figural scene signed Belclair on both, outlined by gilt painted scroll and diaper pattern decoration, with gilt metal scroll handles attached to rim that extend down the body of the urns, gilt metal collar around neck, eight footed base with leaf tip band, and pine cone knobbed lid. Marked on bottom with double louis in blue underglaze, "Hand Painted, Made in France" and a maker's mark with "MBW" in a red triangle form. Approximately 15.75" tall x 4.25" wide at base. Provenance: Former catcher with the Chicago Cubs and one of Nashville's most prolific restaurateurs.
