Emery in Amsbury, 1868, recalling their childhood together, cited in Samuel Thomas Pickard's Life and Letters of John Greenleaf Whittier, volume 2, 8 3/4 x 6 1/2 in. "The years that since we met have flown, Leave as they found me still alone. No wife, nor child, nor grandchild dear, Are mine the heart of age to cheer.
