Painted on The New Testament in an Improved Version, London: Taylor, 1819, octavo, bound in full contemporary straight-grained red morocco, a.e.g., in a custom slipcase, 6 3/4 x 4 1/4 in. Lansdowne House stood in London's Berkeley Square until the 1930s; it was home to several British Prime Ministers. A road-widening scheme resulted in the partial demolition of its front rooms, two were removed for preservation and display at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
