Carved Maple Tall Case Clock, Timothy Chandler, Concord, New Hampshire, late 18th century, tombstone-shaped hood and glazed door with white-painted iron dial lettered with the maker's name and brass eight-day weight-driven movement, brass stop-fluting to hood and waist, and ogee bracket base, refinished, ht. with finial 94 in. Provenance: A Cornwall, Connecticut, Collector. Estimate $4,000-6,000 crack in hood side light, center finial replaced, center plinth with losses to top, dial with areas of repaint (including calendar aperture) and losses (signature weak, moon-phase indicator with losses), base with shrinkage to left side, green paint to bottom areas of feet where floor may have been painted around it, bottom board broken out.
