After Jean-Jacques Henner (French, 1829-1905), "St. Fabiola", gouache painting on paper, inscribed lower left "d'apres J HENNER '98" above indistinguishable monogram and "Fabiola" in black lower left. Painting copying Henner's iconic work of the saint with red cloth draped over head and in profile against dark background. Note: The original work is lost but has numerous copies. Hundreds of copies after Henner's "St. Fabiola" have been grouped together by the Belgian contemporary artist Francis Alys who gathered the works over a 15 year span. Framed approximately 15.5" x 12.75". Unframed approximately 11.25" x 8.5".
