Andrew Athan Tagaris (American/ Ohio, 20th century). "Oakhurst", oil on artist's board, signed lower left of center "Tagaris". Painting depicts an enormous oak tree trunk on right side of canvas leaning leftward over a creek or river with mountains in the background, the scene painted in heavy impasto with a palette knife in tones of green, purple, and yellow. Inscribed to verso of board "Artist: Andrew Tagaris, Address: Pacific Palisades, CA, Name of Painting: Oakhurst", with a second applied label reiterating the same information. Framed approximately 15.5" x 18.5", unframed approximately 9" x 12".
