Identified British Philadelphia Horn, c. 1758, powder horn with a broken spout, "IONA ROGERS. SVRgN. 17 R. OF FOOT. 1758" carved in a banner, with the British coat of arms, a panoply of arms. ships, windmill, and "PHILADELPHIA" in a banner over the city, overall lg. 8 in. Note: Jonathan Rogers was surgeon of the 17th Regiment of foot as well as holding a commission as having the rank of Captain-Lieutenant. Estimate $400-600 The plug is a later replacement, and the top of the horn is broken.
