Benson 1st Mounted Rifles Sutler Token and a Kittredge Token, c. 1860s, Benson marked on the obverse "J.J. BENSON/GOOD FOR/25/CENTS/SUTLER 1ST MTD. RIFLES," and on the reverse "25", and a Kittredge token marked on the obverse "KITTREDGE & CO. 134 MAIN ST. CIN. O. 1863," and on the reverse "DEALERS IN MILITARY GOODS/GUNS, PISTOLS/AND/SPORTING/APPARATUS." Provenance: The collection of Nicholas A. Penachio. Estimate $200-300 Benson token has some wear from use in the middle of the coin, Kittredge is in like new condition.
