William Anders (American, b. 1933) The Earth photographed from beyond Earth orbit for the first time in history, Apollo 8, December 1968. Vintage chromogenic print on fiber-based Kodak paper with 'A Kodak Paper' watermark on the verso, image size 9 1/2 x 7 5/8 in. (24.0 x 19.2 cm), unmatted. Condition: Good. N.B. 'The Earth is now passing through my window. It's about as big as the end of my thumb,' observed James Lovell in an air-to-ground transmission. 'Waters are all sort of a royal blue.
