Cernan, Lunar Module pilot; John W. Young, Command Module pilot; and Thomas P. Stafford, Commander. The purpose of the fourth manned Apollo mission was to be a dress rehearsal for Apollo 11, testing all of the procedures and components of a Moon landing without actually landing on the Moon itself.
