James Garfield-related Objects, c. mid to late 19th century, a carte-de-visite marked on the obverse "GENERAL GARFIELD" and on the reverse "THE LONDON/STEREOSCOPIC & PHOTOGRAPHIC/COMPANY," two knives with bone handles and an engraved brass plaque that reads "THESE KNIVES USED BY JAMES A. GARFIELD/AT MIDDLE CREEK, SHILOH AND CHICKAMAUGA/DURING THE WAR OF THE REBELLION," a bronze medallion marked on the obverse "JAMES A. GARFIELD", and on the reverse "INAUGURATED/PRESIDENT/OF THE/UNITED STATES/MARCH 4, 1881/ASSASINATED/JULY 2, 1881/DIED SEPT. 19, 1881," and a copper Garfield Memorial coin.
