Buzz Aldrin (American, b. 1930) Neil Armstrong in the Lunar Module Eagle after the historic moonwalk, Apollo 11, July 1969. Numbered 'NASA AS11-37-5528' (NASA MSC) in red on the recto u.l. margin. Vintage chromogenic print on fiber-based Kodak paper with 'A Kodak Paper' watermark on the verso, image size 7 1/4 x 7 in. (18.3 x 17.5 cm), unmatted. Condition: Good. N.B. Aldrin took very few photographs of Armstrong on the lunar surface but this image of him back in the LM after the moonwalk is the first 'helmet-free' photograph of a man on the moon. Armstrong wears a grin as he talks into a microphone to Houston. Houston: "We would like to say from all of us down here... that you have done a fantastic job up there today.'
