American, 19th century. A hand painted toleware tin tray with ovular articulated handles on either end of a raised rim that is painted with a band of gilt foliate decoration punctuated by circular cartouches on each corner containing scrolled swags. Body of tray with decoration in center of a stone footbridge with two walkers on it flanked by trees on all side, with two grassy hills in the background with a steepled church in front beside a meadow holding three sheep. Paper label to verso inscribed "From Martha A. Clapp, Cohasset, Mass." Approximately 28.5" tall x 20.75" wide.
