Recruiting Poster, Commission, Cane, and Ephemera Relating to Benjamin Read Wales, 42nd and 45th Massachusetts, and 1st U. S. Colored Troops, c. 1861-99, recruiting poster calling for troops in the 45th Massachusetts Regiment, two framed muster rolls, a book of small tintype images of soldiers and family, papers and commissions to the Massachusetts Militia and 1st Colored Infantry, a copy of Hardtack and Coffee, an image of Wales, and his cane. Estimate $700-900 Poster has a few small holes and folds but is in overall good condition, some of the papers are folded, and one muster roll has staining from spilled ink.
