Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Contract Flintlock Musket, c. 1797-98, walnut stock with iron fittings, lock marked on the tail "CP" and marked "MB" inside of the lock, top of the barrel marked "C" with the "P" not visible, and a liberty cap over "P" proof mark, barrel lg. 44, overall lg. 59 1/2 in. Estimate $1,500-2,000 Stock has a few light dings and nicks and wood separation in a few spots on the forend, the top jaw screw broke off and had a slot filed in during its period of use, lock functions properly and the gun is in overall very good condition.
