Cased Pair of Mortimer Flintlock Pistols Identified to Captain Warden Flood, c. early 19th century, walnut stocks with brass escutcheon plates on the wrist, brass engraved trigger guards and side plates, lock marked "H.W/MORTIMER & Co.," barrels have two proof marks on the left side and are marked "H.W. MORTIMER & Co. LONDON/GUN MAKERS TO HIS MAJESTY.," wooden ramrods with bone tips, a velvet-lined case with a brass escutcheon on the top marked "Captain Warden Flood," barrel lg. 9 1/4, overall lg. 15 in. Note: Captain Warden Flood (b. 1806) owned these pistols during his service in the 51st Regiment of Foot, Light Infantry company. Estimate $2,000-2,500 Some dings and nicks in the stocks from use, some browning remains on the barrels, locks function properly, the lid of the case has been repaired from the glue drying out.
