Model 1855 Percussion Pistol-carbine, c. 1856, walnut stock with brass fittings, tail of the lockplate dated "1856," front marked "U.S./SPRINGFIELD," breech marked "V/P" over an eagle, detachable stock marked on the buttplate "US" with a "10" stamped under the brass attachment plate, overall lg. 28 1/2 in. Provenance: The collection of Nicholas A. Penachio. Estimate $2,500-3,500 Stock has some dings and nicks as well as a few light cracks on the grip, steel parts have some wear and a coating of varnish.
