Two Cased 19th Century Instruments, Italy and England, a rosewood-cased instrument with 3-in. hand-colored compass card reading in Latin "Studio ac Liabore Prts Michaelisangeli a Neto capuccini 1812"; and a 2-in. brass pocket sundial with lid engraved with a "W," and ring-turned edges, collapsible gnomon, paper compass rose (deterioration) in interior lid reading "Steadman London." Provenance: Edward S. Jones collection, Los Angeles. Estimate $300-500 rosewood cased instrument with replaced plexiglass cover over compass card.
