Delamarche 4-in. Terrestrial Globe, Paris, c. 1845, with paper gores laid over a plaster veneer sphere, calibrated paper meridian ring, and printed horizon band, all resting on a delicately turned four-arm base, ht. 10 in. Provenance: Edward S. Jones collection, Los Angeles. Estimate $300-500 tag on underside of base reading "318," horizontal and vertical cracks to sphere, small paper loss to horizon band, shellac loss throughout. Globe is actually a Delamarche globe and Cartouche reads in part "Delamarche, Paris, 1845" The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of aging.
