Note: Before becoming a goldsmith, Maija Neimanis worked as a costume designer for television and film. After taking a three-week course at the Jewelry Arts Institute she went on to an intense study in granulation, enamel, lapidary, and chain weaving. As a costume designer, she specialized in historical fashions, so she was naturally drawn to the historical techniques of the Greeks and Etruscans. These techniques show prominently in her work.
