Benton" in pencil l.r., signed within the matrix. Lithograph on paper, image size 16 x 12 1/4 in. (40.5 x 31.0 cm), framed. Condition: Gentle rippling, not examined out of frame. N.B. The sitter is singer, songwriter, and actor Burl Ives. He was a prolific actor on stage and screen, but is best remembered as the narrator Sam the Snowman in the 1964 television classic Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer. Estimate $800-1,200 Sheet measures 20 1/8 by 15 7/8 in. and has deckled edges. Numbered "#21 of 500" in black ink in the margin l.l. Blindstamp l.l. Small accretion at u.r. by head of guitar. Subtle discoloration on the verso. Subtle staining on the verso l.r. corner. Hinged at upper corners with linen tape. Linen tape remnants on the verso at upper corners.
