Model 1851 Springfield Cadet Musket and Bayonet, c. 1851, walnut stock with a light cartouche on the left side, lock marked "SPRING/FIELD/1851" with an eagle over "US," steel barrel dated on the tang "1851" with proof marks on the left side of the breech, with a bayonet marked "US," barrel lg. 40, overall lg. 55 in. Provenance: The collection of Don Troiani. Estimate $700-900 Stock has some dings and nicks and a brass collection tag on the right side of the butt, the lock functions properly, overall in very good condition.
