French Model 1842 Rifle-Musket and Bayonet, c. mid-19th century, walnut stock with a cartouche on the right side of the butt, steel fittings, lock marked with a crown over "CD," steel barrel with a Liege proof mark on the left side, and a graduated sight on the top of the barrel, and a bayonet, barrel lg. 40 1/2, overall lg. 56 1/4 in. Provenance: The collection of Don Troiani. Estimate $400-600 Stock has some dings and nicks and has been refinished, and the lock functions properly but doesn't stay on safety.
