Carte-de-visite and Lock of Hair from General Robert E. Lee, c. 1862-70, a lightly faded, signed carte-de-visite of Robert E. Lee in uniform, signed at the bottom, and a lock of his hair in a small leather case. Provenance: By family descent from Dr. Robert Foster Bradley, professor at Washington and Lee in the early 20th century. Estimate $1,000-1,500 Image and autograph are faded, with some foxing.
