U. S. Model 1860 Staff & Field Officer's Sword and a GAR Sword, c. mid to late 19th century, a 1860 staff & field sword with a brass hilt, a wire-wrapped shagreen grip, "Ames" marked on one side of the ricasso, and "W.T. CHRISTIAN" on the other, steel blade with foliate designs and "US," and a steel scabbard with brass fittings; and a GAR sword with a brass hilt, a wire-wrapped leather grip, steel blade marked "W.T. CHRISTIAN" on the ricasso, and a leather scabbard with brass fittings. Provenance: By family descent to the consignor. Estimate $200-400 1860 sword is in very good condition, GAR sword is in good condition with a little finish loss on the leather grip and weak spots on the scabbard near the drag.
