Three WWII Fighting Knives, c. 1941-45, a Ka-bar knife with a leather grip, marked on the ricasso "U.S.M.C." on one side, and "KA-BAR," etched on the blade "M.J. KING, JR./ENS. U.S.N.R.," with a leather sheath with brass fittings marked "M.J.K." on the throat, with an anchor and 'USN" on the front of the chape, and back engraved "USS. SOUTH/DAKOTA 1945/HMS KING GEO V/1956/USS. MISSOURI 1945/USS. WHITEWOOD/1946"; a knife with a leather grip, marked on the ricasso "CAMILLUS. N.Y." and "U.S.N.," marked on the back of the leather scabbard with battles including "IWO JIMA," and a Sheffield knife with leather grip, marked on the blade "GILLWELL," and on the other side "L/T. M.G. HILLERNS/WINNER/ASSAULT COMPETITION.PHANTOM/MARCH 1942." Provenance: The collection of Nicholas A. Penachio. Estimate $300-500 All have some wear from use but are in good condition.
